Dr Bhuvaneshwari Shankar is a bilingual poet, fiction writer, editor, translator and a trainer of Creative Writing.
She holds a doctorate in English Literature from Osmania University, Hyderabad and a Diploma in English Language Teaching from EFL university, Hyderabad. She has taught English language, English Literature and Soft Skills to a variety of students at Osmania University’s affiliated and constituent colleges for many years ranging from law graduates to Undergraduate and Postgraduate students of English, Arts, Computer Science and Engineering.
In 2004, she took up writing, which was a passion all along. Her poems and short stories have appeared in more than a dozen anthologies published by Notion Press, Readomania, The Poetry Society of India, Global Fraternity of Poets and Author’s Press.In addition her poems and short stories have been published in online platforms such as Langlit, Learning & Creativity and Destiny Poets, UK. Some of her work is available in her blog Musing Keys. She shares her shorter pieces on Instagram.
Her independent poetry collection, The Earthen Bowl was awarded the Author of the Year 2019 at the NE8x Online Litfest.
In the beginning of this year she published her second collection of poetry titled Radiant Earth. Both of these books are available on Amazon.
She has worked as a poetry editor with Readomania and has edited Jayant Kripalani’s collection of poems titled ‘Some Bad Poems, Some Mad Poems and a Story in Verse’ and Dr Tripti Sharan’s modern interpretation on the Radha Krishna myth, titled, ‘Being Radha.’ She is part of the editorial team of The Roseate Sonnet Anthology published by Authorspress.
She has an abiding interest in music and has given several stage performances in classical and film music.
