1 – Acting | In this session, children will engage in participative and interactive activities to get comfortable with the group and get familiar with the world of theater. 2 – Costume and Characterization | In this session, children will focus more on costuming and developing a given character. They will explore make-up and different ways of designing a costume and understand what is best suited for a given situation. | 1. Understand and comprehend the history of theater 2. 3 – Story making and Prop making | In this session, children will collectively decide on a story for their final performance. They will then learn how and why props and settings can aid in making the performance better. | 1. Learn why props and settings are important 2. Engage and learn how to design and make props | Design a Backdrop for a story Design a Prop for a performance Collaborate to decide and finalize a story for their performance | Why is the setting important? How and why are props used? Can there be only one setting for one place or can each of us think differently? |
4 – Characterisation, ads, dialogue delivery | In this session, children will focus on adding more depth to their characters by learning how to write dialogues and incorporate emotions and feelings into them. Then, they will focus on dialogue delivery as well. In order to bring in some variety, the children will get their creativity caps on and design their own posters for their play as well. | 1. 5 – Dubbing, set Design, and additional props | In this session, children will further work on setting and props and focus on the details of set designing and execution. They will engage in some fun-filled activities to learn the art of dubbing while also learning how it is used in theater. In addition, they will broaden their horizon with the knowledge of world theatre | 1. Engage and make props and sets 2. Learn dubbing and its uses in Theater 3. 6 – Enhancing the Performance | In this session, children will engage in learning and incorporating voice, movement, emotions, and other expressions to make their performance better. | 1. Know the different forms of theater in India 2. Explore and understand how to make performance better through dialogues, movement, and character development 3. Learn what is method acting and how it is used. | Use imagination to complete a story based on a plot Work as a team on their production Fun Photography | What are the different forms of theater in India? 7 – Set and Costume Design and Advertising | In this session, children will complete any pending work with regards to set making and will do a full rehearsal of the play. This will be followed by a light-hearted, fun activity where they will create a trailer for their play, to build curiosity about it. Then, they will focus deeply on how they can use and modulate their voice and incorporate actions into their performance and enhance it. | 1. Make sets and costumes and prepare for the performance 2. 8 – Lighting and Sound | In this session, the children will make a checklist of things required for the final performance and work towards getting it ready. They will do a full rehearsal while also understanding more about lighting and sound in a performance. | 1. Learn about how lighting can be used to enhance a performance 2. Understand how to use lighting for their performance 3. Learn and understand how sound is used for a performance 4. 9 – Tickets, Rehearsal and Face Painting | This is a session filled with energy and excitement as the children rehearse for the final. They will work as a team and ensure all aspects of the play are looked into. They will also explore face painting as a way of enhancing their performance. | 1. 10 – Performance | This is the final session during which the children will showcase their play to everyone by using the information and knowledge that they have gathered through the program. The program will be wrapped up with a reflection on the performance in order to help the children become mindful and reflect. | 1. Perform as a team in front of an audience 2.
