10 Sessions

Booklings is more than a book club, it is a creative space for children. Reading expands the minds, enriches the mind and spirit. Kids will be introduced to a wide range of books of different genres, styles, and topics of interest. Reading such a variety of books enriches their vocabulary. They will find the right words for the right situations. This will enhance their communication skills that will reflect in their ability to write and speak clearly and with confidence. They will enjoy the interaction with different cultures made possible due to their familiarity with languages. In the process, they will attempt to understand the concept of language as a whole. This will aid in their attempts to learn other languages also.


3-6 Years

Learning Outcomes:

Listen and sing along to action songs and stories.

With help, ask and answer questions about key details from a book or story.

Enhance fine motor skills with simple crafts.

Narrate the story in their own words.

Identify the characters in the story.

Listen and follow the age-appropriate book which is being read.

Familiarize with the print medium and the structure of a book.

Connect the story to their personal experiences.

Recognize common 3-4 letter words

8+ years

Range of Reading

Engage in silent reading of age-appropriate books with the understanding

Increase their vocabulary by at least 2 words per book

Recognize and read unfamiliar words

Read an age-appropriate book completely on their own and retell it in their own words

Critical Thinking

Engage in unguided conversation about ideas and concepts in books

Compare and contrast the situations of characters in familiar stories.

Books and Storytelling – Structure

Become aware 8  different genres of stories and the books in that genre

Gain the knowledge and be able to talk about different children’s authors

Attempt to write a comic strip book based on their  own story with all the elements of a book

Recognize common types of books – Poems, Stories, picture books

With help name the author and illustrator of a story and define the role of each in telling the story

Compare and talk about stories and books

Writing and Creativity

Use a combination of drawing, dictating, and writing to narrate a situation and a reaction to it


Respond to questions and suggestions from peers and add details to strengthen writing as needed

Key ideas and details

Recount or retell a book/ story that they read

Identify characters, settings, and major events in a story.

Ask and answer questions about unknown words in a text.
